“Around Town” with R.I.V.E.R. Educational Consulting

R.E.C.’s own Dr. Tara Kfoury has been participating in the ongoing discussions about the Social, Emotional, and Mental Health & Wellness needs of Boston students with City Councilor-at Large Annissa Essaibi-George and others from the mental health and wellness field around Boston.  The goal of these conversations is to design and implement legislation that would open up the doors to funding and require schools to provide the necessary support so needed in our schools today. In March, Dr. Kfoury was asked to speak on behalf of R.I.V.E.R. Educational Consulting to the Braintree Rotary Club & community about NSSI, Suicide & Addiction.  Upon the completion of the presentation, Dr. Kfoury was awarded a certificate of Appreciation for her dedication to the field and her contribution to the conversation that day.

Dr. Kfoury offered guidance to Millis High School students from Millis, Massachusetts, about building self-confidence and controlling stress.  Using a combination of media genres, Dr. Kfoury was able to provide examples of others who struggle with confidence, self-esteem, and self-worth- citing many celebrities like Lady Gaga, Micheal B. Jordan, Jennifer Lopez, and more. In her presentation, she was able to provide models of good living and confidence building skills, positive coping strategies, and positive living skills to develop in circumstances that elevate stress.

Dr. Tara Kfoury was interviewed for DisruptEdHealth TV with host Julie Palumbo, a Certified Nutrition Consultant & Health Coach, Motivational Speaker, Host of DisruptED TV’s Health Show, Cookbook Author and CEO of Best Whole Self (http://www.bestwholeself.com/).  .  During the interview, Dr. Kfoury continued to spread awareness of Non-Suicidal Self-Injury, Suicide, Anxiety, and the mission of R.I.V.E.R.
