Initial Consultation: No Charge

The first step in identifying services needed by potential clients requires a 30-45 minute conversation, either in person, via face-time, or by phone. During this initial consultation, potential client objectives, concerns, needs and/or wants will be expressed and discussed. If R.I.V.E.R. Educational Consulting services are a good match, we will proceed to discuss our varied contract levels and future steps.

School Administrative Social, Emotional, & Behavioral Training & Consultation Contract: (ranges from Two 60 minute sessions to a Full Professional Day)

Schools will complete an initial consultation call and establish an agreement of session content, time requirements, and payment with the individualized school and/or school upper administrative offices. Clients commit to training session(s) that cover topics such as how to identify, intervene, recover, and reintegrate students who exemplify non-suicidal self-injury, suicidal inclinations, other co-occurring negative behaviors, and addiction. Our training sessions also offer strategies to prevent a pre-existing or emerging contagion within the school community. An objective of this training is to educate the administrative staff on the identification, prevention, intervention, and post-intervention strategies with the idea of having such knowledge be used within the everyday classroom as well as guide a school community in the development of a crisis team response plan or the revision of your current crisis intervention plans.

Classroom Consultation Contract:
(Two 45-60 minute periods of observation & debriefing session with future steps)

After completing a consultation call and agreement with the individualized school and/or school upper administrative offices to enter into contract, the individual teacher will participate in two class observation sessions with a member of our team and then two post-observation conversations. Post Observation conversations may be provided either in person, via face-time, or phone. At the close of each post-observation conversation, future steps to ensure greater success for the teacher will be provided. The consultant will also email the individual teacher the steps as discussed during one-to-one communication. Extensions of this form of contract can be arranged.

Personal/Parental Educational Consultation Contract: (Six Sessions)

After completing a consultation call, clients are able to enter into a weekly or biweekly initial consultation contract. This contract will allow the client to meet, either in person, via face-time, or by phone for one hour (60 minutes) each week for a period of six weeks. It can include one weekly email check-in between sessions. This initial personal consultation contract is important for establishing a relationship between our consulting staff and the client and highlighting client-consultant overall objectives and needs. In subsequent meetings, our staff will dig deeper to identify critical key areas of concern, whether academic, social, emotional, behavioral, or mental health related, and devise an action plan with you to best help your child succeed in school. Often, the first 1 and 2 sessions are spent digging into the concerns of the client and attempting to identify the root causes for these concerns. Further sessions are used to design a personalized plan for the student/parent/family’s continued overall educational needs. **This may also be offered ONLINE***

*Extensions of this contract can be discussed at the closing of the six week discussion.

Family Consultation Contract: (Six 60 minute Sessions)

After completing a consultation call and agreement to enter into contract, familial clients are able to commit to a weekly/biweekly consultation contract. This contract will require the family to meet, either in person, via face-time, or by phone for one hour (60 minutes) each week for a period of six weeks. Consultation may occur in the familial household, if preferred. This consultation service also includes one weekly email check-in between sessions. This initial familial consultation contract is important for establishing a relationship between our consulting staff and a family, highlighting client-consultant overall objectives. Often, the first 1 and 2 sessions are spent unpacking the academic, social, emotional, or behavioral concerns of the families and attempting to identify the root causes for these concerns. It is usually at  the onset of these sessions that a child/children reveal how he/she/they believe the family views their academic performance and their social, emotional, and mental health.  Typically by the third session, our consultants help the family design a plan of success and implement strategies to meet the goals set for the child/children.

Community Outreach Conversations: Rate Varies

As part of a critical need for society-wide discussions on Social, Emotional, Behavioral, and Mental Health Awareness within educational areas, R.I.V.E.R. Educational Consulting is dedicated to hosting and participating in Community Outreach Conversations. Depending on the topic desired, our presentations are geared toward wide-audiences of varied backgrounds with a design to identify areas of concern, address such areas with research-based solutions, devise action plans, provide essential links and resources to professional help, instruct on how to de-escalate negative situations, and links to assistance in recovery (to name a few). We aim to help communities learn to better support their youth through the provision of short and long-term care strategies while erasing the stigma of mental, behavioral, and emotional health.
